TERMS

Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Vaquero service at vaquerohq.com. Creating an account or using the service means you accept them.

1.What this service does

Vaquero is software for testing trading strategies against historical market data. You set the conditions and the execution settings, the engine applies them to a past window, and it hands back what that would have produced. The whole of it happens on records. No real money moves at any point.

We place no orders. We hold no member funds or assets, and we connect to no brokerage or exchange account. We send no trading signals, we name no security to buy or sell, and we guarantee no return. Nothing here is investment, financial, legal or tax advice, and nothing here is a solicitation. Every investment decision and its consequence is yours.

The service is six things: the AI strategy designer, the backtesting engine, charts, watchlists, the economic calendar, and the member community.

2.Your account

The members-only areas need an account. You can create one with an email address or with a Google Account. The service is not generally released yet, so there are stretches when new sign-ups are not open.

Keep your credentials to yourself. Do not let anyone else use your account and do not hand it over or sell it. If you think it has been used without your permission, write to [email protected]. You may close the account whenever you like; what we hold and how it is removed is set out in the Privacy Policy and on the Data Deletion page.

3.Strategies and saving

A strategy you build is stored against your account on our servers, not in the browser, so it opens the same way when you sign in from another device. How many you can keep depends on your plan, and the plans page states the number for each.

What the strategy says is yours. We process it only as far as saving it and running the computation you asked for requires, and we do not show one member's strategy to another or sell it on. Anything you choose to post in the community yourself is outside this, because you published it.

4.How to read a result

A backtest result is a computation of how a set of conditions behaved on past data. It is not a record of trades that happened. Fees, slippage, the order book, liquidity, delisted tickers and figures that were revised after the fact all decide what a real trade returns, and here every one of them is a model that differs from the real thing.

A good number on a past window does not mean the same thing happens next. Tuning the same conditions over and over against the same window tends to produce a result that only fits that window.

Prices and indicators carry their source and some of them are delayed. We do not warrant that the data is complete or free of error, and when the engine or the data changes the same strategy can return a different number.

5.Credits

Credits are the allowance for the AI features inside the site. They are not money, they carry no cash value, and they cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another member, or moved outside the service.

What uses credits is the AI. Working with the AI to build and refine a strategy draws on your allowance as you go, and it stops where the allowance runs out. Running a backtest itself does not use credits. Each plan sets how much computing time you have in a day and how many strategies you can keep; the plans page states both.

On a paid plan, credits reset to the amount the plan provides every month, counted from your billing date, whether you are billed monthly or yearly. Credits left over do not carry into the next month. This works the way a mobile data allowance does: credits are not a product sold on their own, they are the allowance included in a plan.

Credits given when you sign up are provided at no charge and are therefore never refundable.

What happens to the credits left for the current month when a subscription is canceled is set when paid sales open, and it is written into these terms and into the Refund Policy before anything can be bought.

6.Payment and subscription

Paid sales are not open today and no payment has ever been taken. This section applies from the day paid sales open.

Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly. Each plan comes with a monthly credit allowance; credits are not sold separately. The daily run count, the daily compute time, how many strategies you may keep and how far back the data goes are written on the plans page.

Payment is handled through the payment provider we appoint. Who appears as the seller on the checkout and on the receipt, who bills you, who collects and files value-added tax or sales tax, and where a refund or a card dispute is received are all fixed by our contract with that provider, and all of it is written here and in the Refund Policy on the day paid sales open. We neither receive nor store card numbers.

A subscription renews each billing period until you cancel it. Where you cancel, and how the remaining period is treated, are stated when paid sales open; canceling stops the next renewal.

If a price changes we tell you before it takes effect, and a period already paid for keeps the price it was bought at. Refunds are set out on the Refund Policy page.

7.Notifications

We send only the notifications you switch on. There are four kinds: a backtest has finished, an economic calendar event you follow is coming up, a chart price you set has been reached, and something in the community concerns you. A notification states a fact; it is never a recommendation to buy or sell.

8.Community and content

The community is a place for members to talk freely. Do not post anything unlawful, do not impersonate anyone, do not solicit trades or promote investment products or paid trading rooms, and do not post another person's personal information.

What you post stays yours. We use it only as far as showing it on the site and keeping it there requires.

The screens, documents, data and the backtesting engine belong to us or to the sources we cite. Members-only material is for your own reading, so please do not redistribute or resell it.

A post that breaks these rules may be removed, and an account that keeps breaking them may be suspended.

9.What you must not do

  • Scraping the site by automated means, or sending enough requests to burden it.
  • Reverse-engineering the engine or the data, or trying to get around how credits are counted.
  • Lending, selling or sharing an account, or one person holding several accounts.
  • Copying the service or its material to build a competing service.
  • Anything that harms another member or the service itself.

10.Liability and changes to the service

The service is provided as is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Vaquero is not liable for loss arising from use of the service, and that includes investment loss. This does not cover damage caused by our own intent or gross negligence, nor anything the law does not let us disclaim.

Features can change or stop for maintenance, for improvement, because a data supplier changed something, or because the law changed. We give notice of a change that matters before it takes effect.

If you break these terms we may restrict your use of the service or close the account.

11.Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. If something goes wrong, write to [email protected] first and we will try to settle it directly. Where that does not work, the matter goes to the court with jurisdiction under Korean civil procedure law. Nothing here takes away a consumer right that the law of your country of residence gives you and does not allow to be waived.

12.Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date. A change that works against members is announced before it takes effect, and continuing to use the service after that notice means you accept it.
