REFUNDS

Refund Policy

This page sets out what Vaquero sells, when it can be refunded, how to ask, and how long it takes. It sits alongside the Terms of Service; where the two speak about the same thing, this page is the more specific one.

1.Where things stand today

Paid plans are not open. Nothing on the site can be bought at the moment and no payment has ever been taken, so there is no purchase to refund today. This policy is published in advance so that the rules are readable before anything goes on sale, and it takes effect on the day paid plans open.

2.What is sold

One thing: a subscription, billed monthly or yearly. Each month it grants that month's credits, which are the allowance for the AI features. Credits are not sold on their own.

Credits are the AI usage allowance that comes with a plan. They are not sold on their own and are not a voucher, and they cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred to another member, or moved outside the service. What costs credits is the AI. Running a backtest itself does not use credits.

Credits given without payment, such as the ones granted when you sign up, have nothing to return. They are outside this policy.

3.Your statutory right to withdraw

Consumer law gives you a right to withdraw from a purchase, and the law of your country of residence may give you more than this page does. Nothing here reduces such a right. Where this policy and the law disagree, the law wins.

When a subscription starts, and every month after that, the month's allowance is set on the account, and a credit already spent on an AI feature cannot be taken back, because the feature ran. The withdrawal window and how a partly used balance is treated are stated in section 4.

4.What can be refunded

The exact scope is set on the day paid plans open, and it is written into this card before anything can be bought. Two things go in here: how long after a purchase a refund can be requested and on what terms, and what happens to the credits left on an account when a subscription is canceled.

Until those are settled and printed here, nothing is on sale, so no one can be caught out by a rule that is not yet written.

Two cases are settled already. A credit already spent on an AI feature is not refundable, because the feature ran. A credit given at no charge, such as the one on sign-up, was not paid for, so there is no amount to return.

5.Canceling a subscription

A subscription renews each billing period until you cancel it. Canceling stops the next renewal; it is not by itself a refund of the period you already paid for, and whether that period can be refunded is the question section 4 answers.

Where you cancel is stated on the day paid plans open, because it depends on how payment is set up. If you cannot find it, write to [email protected] and we will cancel it for you.

If a price changes we tell you before it takes effect, and a period already paid for keeps the price it was bought at.

6.How to ask for a refund

Write to [email protected] from the address your account uses, and say what you bought and when. That address always works, whichever way payment is set up.

Depending on how payment is set up, the seller shown on your receipt may be the payment provider rather than us, in which case a refund is requested through that provider. The provider's name and the exact place to ask are printed here and on your receipt on the day paid plans open. If you write to us instead, we pass the request on rather than sending you away.

Where to write [email protected]

7.How long it takes

Where a refund is accepted, we refund within 3 business days of the day you asked for it, as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce requires for services and digital content. A refund goes back to the method you paid with; how long it then takes to appear is decided by your card issuer or bank, and that part is out of our hands. If we are late, the Act sets statutory interest on the delay.

When a purchase is refunded, the credits it granted are removed from the account. If they have already been spent, that is the case section 4 covers.

8.Card disputes

If something looks wrong on your statement, please write to us first. We can usually settle it in a day or two, and going straight to a chargeback locks the payment for weeks while the card networks work through it.

Where a chargeback is raised, we hand the card issuer the record of the purchase and of what was delivered. An account may be suspended while a disputed payment is open, and access returns when it is resolved.

9.When a refund is not given

  • Credits already spent on an AI feature, because the feature ran.
  • Credits given at no charge, because nothing was paid for them.
  • A backtest result that did not match what you hoped for. The engine computed what you asked it to compute, and section 4 of the Terms explains why a past result is not a promise.
  • An account closed for breaking the Terms of Service, to the extent the law allows.

Even in these cases, a right the law gives you and does not allow to be waived stays intact.

10.Changes and who to contact

When this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date, and a purchase already made is judged by the version that was in force when it was made.
